About Wayne Forbes
Impacted largely by the journey of losing both of his kidneys, the renowned art of Wayne Forbes spans dimensions and mediums with works done in pen and ink, sculptures created from wood, metal, latex, ceramic and plaster, as well as, a few pieces produced in colored markers. An artist for as long as he can remember, Forbes went from carving pieces with his Grandfather’s pocket knife to teaching sculpture at Illinois Central College, Peoria, Illinois. The process of dialysis brought him to a halt for 90 minutes, four times a day, creating a space for him to return his attention to his two-dimensional art. He created a drawing ritual for himself that was a part of his healing, as well as, creative process. The question of “What do you do with those that do not turn out properly?” is a theme that presents itself throughout many of his creations, as evidenced in their multiple limbs and other features not always correct in number or placement.

About Joseph Greenberg
Figural forms, stone carvings of animals and abstract shapes make up the diverse catalogue of work by the prolific artist Joseph Greenberg of Philadelphia, PA. Though many of his pieces did not make their way to market, those that did are famously displayed in locations throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding area. His black granite bear with cub is a well-known fixture at the Philadelphia Zoo. But, according to the artist, his favorite sculpture is that of the 60 feet-high welded steel ‘Symbol of Progress’ created in 1967, located in the heart of Bethlehem, PA. This piece is meant to stand as a symbol of various ethnic groups on which the city is based, moving upward to show the integration of the people of Bethlehem, then progressing skyward as they are strengthened by their diverse beginnings and their subsequent meetings.
