Decorated 19th century snare drum with interior label "Klemm & Brother, Musical Instruments, Strings &c, No. 705 Market St. Philadelphia". Drum measures 17" in diameter and 13" in height. Front of drum features center marquetry design with bird and floral motif. Design lozenge is surrounded by gilt paint design and is flanked by US flags. Ropes feature original tabs but are missing leather ears. Snare and heads are present but heads are broken. Paint exhibits some losses. Klemm & Brothers existed at 705 Market Street in Philadelphia from 1857 thru 1879.
