Noted 20th century Philadelphia artist, Florence Prince Ewing, graduation from the Philadelphia School of Design (Moore College of Art), and exhibited at institutions including the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, National Gallery in Washington, D.C. and the Woodmere Art Museum. Ewing was one of the original founders and a director of the Manyunk Art Center and active in the Plastic Club of Philadelphia. Primarily working in oils and watercolor, Ewing saw no boundaries when it came to subject manner. Rural barnyard scenes juxtaposed to city row houses, females nudes to formal portraits and expansive landscapes to tabletop still lifes
