45 Auto, 10 1/2" bbl, SN A0152124X (circa late 1941-early 1942) 26-1234. Class III C&R. 90% matte gray parkerized type finish shows thinning and loss on most edges; good bore (shows wear to rifling). Model legend on left side above the trigger shows a small area that has been ground away, removing the US from the model prefix, with the Suffix being overstamped from A1 to AC, indicating the rifle was modified for commercial and law enforcement sale rather than military property; the serial number prefix AO indicates the rifle was made at the Auto-Ordnance plant (not S, which would indicate Savage), with the X suffix indicating that the weapon was a military surplus firearm modified for commercial/law enforcement. The rifle is listed on the Form 4 as a Savage/Auto-Ordnance. Rear sight marked LYMAN, woodstock, finger-groove pistol grip, and finger-groove forearm show light average handling, with some small, shallow dents and scratches, with the left side of the forearm having a 2 1/4" long crack, with nylon sling, 1-20 rnd, and 1-30 rnd (still in paper wrap) stick magazines, with a hardback copy of Roger Cox's book The Thompson SMG. 16 7/8" LOP, heavy 8lb + trigger pull. Good condition. NOTE: Please refer to the terms and conditions of this sale regarding firearms with high-capacity magazines.
