22 1/4" faintly etched blade marked with a small Knight's helmet (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co.) on 1 side of the ricasso, flat spine etched with A FRANZ? WURZSBERG (possibly indicating A = Artillerie-Regiment, FRANZ=regimental name honoring commander Franz von Horn, Würzburg, Bavaria) Royal Bavarian 2nd Field Artillery Regiment. Brass hilt with muzzle ring, a false-spring steel release with no bayonet-lug receptacle, a grooved handle pattern on 1 side only, a tan portepee, and a leather scabbard with a stapled brass chape and throat.
