Cased Colt Model 1862 Police & Pocket revolver bearing the serial #9420 (matching serial numbers) in .36 caliber percussion. Pistol presents a 4.5" round barrel. Top of barrel presents one-line stamping"ADDRESS COL. SAM COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA". with left side of frame stamped "COLTS/PATENT in two lines. The cylinder is stamped on one flute"PAT SEPT. 10th 1850" with serial number on another flute. Serial number indicates that the pistol was manufactured in 1862. Pistol exhibits much of its bluing and case. Frame and barrel exhibit some minor surface abrasions. Pistol housed in original case containing powder flask, mold, screwdriver, cap box and cartridge. Case measures 5.5" x 10.5" x 2" and lacks original key. Gun would rate near excellent in NRA antique firearms standards. Provenance: Gary S. Wolfer Collection
