Hall North Model 1843 carbine in .52 cal with 21" round barrel. Top of breechblock is stamped in 5 lines "U.S. / S.NORTH / MIDLTN / CONN. / 1844" Carbine lacks a serial number. Left side of wood exhibits light stamped ordnance inspector's cartouche. Surface of carbine exhibits overall light surface rust and spotting. Bore presents some corrosion. Wood exhibits some digs and abrasions and a chip with loss at wrist.
