Collection of military related textiles including; 1.) Silk commemorative World War I piece with allied flags surround soldier and sailor with center section for photograph (not present). Text reads "REMBARANCE OF THE WORLD WIDE WAR 1914-1917"(sic). Textile measures 18" x 21" and exhibits some light staining and some edge pulls. 2.) Late 19th century textile with Eagle with crossed US flags and banner reading "E. Pluribus Unum". Textile measures 20" x 18" and exhibits some fade spotting and wrinkling at edge. Textile is backed with far-east newspaper. 3.) United States Navy union jack flag being a blue canton displaying 48 stars (1912-1959). Flag is rope ties hoist and measures 46" on hoist and 74" on fly. Flag marked on hoist "US NAVY" and "OCEAN WAVE". Provenance: Charles Lekites Collection.
