Pair of Peddler dolls handmade by artists Marie and Grace Turner, originally from Brighton, MA. They represent the trades and merchandise sold on Old London Streets. The dolls have wooden carved heads and they have copper wire frames that were wrapped with cloth. The sisters used old fabric and notions to dress them. 11" "The Chromo Peddlar" with painted features, holding Chromos for sale. 11" "The Watch Peddler" with painted features. He has a folding rack with assorted watches for sale. Tagged Richard B. Sears of Sears, Roebuck and Co. Both have wool clothing, leather boots and wonderful detail. Condition: some age loss.
